I really tried to read this book, but unfortunately I had to stop at 25% completion. I love Trenae’s books, but this one just wasn’t it. I was awaiting and anticipating her comeback after so long, but I was disappointed in the writing style of this book. Here are some of the issues that I had with the book:Book went too fast and didn’t expand on missing parts. For example, it jumped from Kayceon and Mercy meeting to them being in a relationship 4 months later. Never went into detail about how she hooked up with Gabe. No character development in the beginning about Mercy and her friend. How did they meet? Even with Kayceon’s mom, how did the dad die?Kayceon going to jail just popped up, no development in the very beginning of the story as to how and why the charges. Why didn’t you develop their relationship from the beginning?
